Our Commercial Construction Process
With over 15 years of commercial construction experience, Sommers Construction has developed a process which is very workable.
We meet with our clients to discuss their vision. The key is communication and then understanding. We often visit the space during this initial meeting to discuss the vision.
Often clients have their project drawings completed and ready for construction. If you do not have plans developed for your project, no problem. We have a team of Architects, Engineers, and our in-house design team that can develop construction drawings to bring your vision to life.
Once the drawings have been completed, we provide cost estimates. Our estimates are comprehensive and accurate. We make sure the client has a complete understanding of the estimate and offer value engineering if needed to get the project in budget.
It is important to us to get customer feedback about our estimates. There are often questions, clarifications needed and occasionally changes, so we follow up.
We have a standard contract recommended by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), which is comprehensive.
Construction, Coordination, Communication
This is the part we have all been waiting for. Our team takes your vision and breaks ground. We keep in contact constantly throughout the construction process with everyone involved. It is important to us that our clients understand the entire process of work in process and what is to be expected as the job progresses.
There are many different team members involved in bringing your vision to life. Our dedicated team of experts inspect and oversee every aspect of your project to ensure your project is built correctly.
We bill monthly for percentage of work completed.
This is the final process in the construction process. We turn the space over to you. We discuss the systems installed and offer training on these systems. This ensures the client can operate and maintain their new space. This is not the end of the road for our process. Our process continues as the relationships we have created through the process continue for years to come.
